Celebrating True Love and Unity Chapter Centenary

 Chapter Centenary 1

On Wednesday the 8th of June True Love and Unity hosted a fantastic evening of Royal Arch Masonry in celebration of their Centenary. Fifty three Companions gathered together in recognition of this momentous occasion which had been delayed for two years due to the Covid pandemic.

 Chapter Centenary3

The Chapter was duly opened by the MEZ, E.Comp Victor Williscroft assisted by E.Comp Paul Bradfield (H) and E.Comp Phillip German (J) and the Dispensation for the meeting was read. Following a report, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E.Comp Christopher Roach was admitted into the Chapter. He was accompanied by the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E. Comp Gerald Watson, the 2nd Grand Principal, E.Comp Paul Hughes, the 3rd Grand Principal, E. Comp Steve Joint, and a number of Grand officers and active Provincial Officers. The MEGS exercised his prerogative to take the Chair of the Chapter and the Provincial Officers assumed the duties of their respective stations.

E.Comp Chris Taylor, PrScE, read the minutes of the Consecration Meeting of the 8th of June 1920 and also the Centenary Charter. The Centenary Charter was then presented to the MEZ by the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent.

E.Comp Gerald Watson then read Centennial Address detailing history of the Chapter, its Consecration, and distinguished Companions.

The MEGS and his Officers then passed control of the Chapter back to the Principals and Officers of True Love and Unity and, on receiving his Sceptre, E.Comp Williscroft presented the MEGS with a donation to the Most Excellent Grand Superintendents Fund. This gesture was reciprocated by the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent who then presented the Chapter with a cheque for £500 to be presented to the RNLI.

The business of the evening continued with the three Principals being proclaimed as the Principals for the ensuing year. They invested their officers and concluded the business of the meeting before all retired to the refectory for a wonderful festive board full of fun and conversation.

Chapter Centenary 4

The Centenary Meeting of True Love and Unity was a truly great night of Royal Arch Masonry and the Chapter looks forward to a very positive future.
